Bachelor's Study

The Bachelor's study offers a basic scientific qualification in bioinformatics as well as the necessary knowledge in the life sciences.

 

Graduates (m/f) are enabled to understand life science problems, to apply mathematical models to model them, and to apply the scientific methods of bioinformatics. The degree qualifies the graduate for a professional career in bioinformatics.

 

The regular length of study is six semesters.

 

Necessary requirements for the application are the "Abitur" or an equivalent high school degree (see exam regulations §16). Applications for a study of bioinformatics in Saarbrücken are directed to the Abteilung für studentische Angelegenheiten of the University (see application). The deadline for the winter semester ends at July 15, for the summer semester at January 15.
