In the context of the Distinguished Speaker Series the following talks will be given during the winter term 2012/2013:

On Wednesday, August 14, 2013 a series of three talks entitled "Computational Biology: Technologies and Approaches to Understanding  Diseases" will be given. Within this context, the following talks will be held:


Prof. Eckart Meese, Dr. Andreas Keller, and their team of researchers from Saarland University have developed a blood test to diagnose Alzheimer's disease. The study was raised by Siemens Healthcare.

At the joint meeting of the 21st Annual International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) and the 12th European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB) in Berlin, Matthias Dietzen was awarded with the RCSB PDB Poster Prize. This prize is traditionally awarded for the best poster presentation in the category "Protein Structure and Function Prediction and Analysis". This year, the awardee was selected from 106 eligible posters.
