This info page provides a first orientation on formal matters and important deadlines that applicants have to consider when applying for a bioinformatics study course at Saarland University in the upcoming winter semester.

 

Prerequisites for applying

The bachelor program is not subject to application restrictions. The master program, however, is subject to application restrictions. In case you intend to apply for the master program, please read the FAQ first.

 

Necessary requirements for the application

  • ...for the Bachelor's- and Master's Study:
    "Abitur" or equivalent high school degree (see Exam regulations, §16).

 

  • ...in addition, for the Masters' Study:
    Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, either from Saarland University or proof of equivalent degree from a different institution (see Exam regulations, §23).

 

Application deadlines and forms

For the Bachelor's and for the Master's Study, there are two deadlines: May, 15th (for the winter semester) and November, 15th (for the summer semester).

For the Master's Study application, please use the online application platform. There, you can upload the required documents (application form, curriculum vitae, copies of your certificates, a list of the attended lectures with corresponding weekly teaching hours, credit points, and grades).
