Professor Andreas Keller from the Center for Bioinformatics at Saar University is leading a research project at the elite US university Stanford in Silicon Valley for one year. The goal is to better understand at the single cell level how diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's develop in the human body. This should enable such widespread diseases to be detected earlier and new therapies to be found. The stay is funded by the Schaller-Nikolich Foundation in Heidelberg with one million US dollars.<\/p> <\/div>\n
