Due to the current developments concerning the spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and the immediate action program adopted this morning by the Council of Ministers and the State Parliament of Saarland, the University Board has decided together with the University Senate on measures of the university to contribute to the slow down of the spread of the virus:

 

1.) The start of lectures in the upcoming summer semester will be postponed from April 6 to May 4, 2020, without extending the lecture period backwards. All legal implications in this context are currently being examined.

2.) Persons with place of residence in the risk areas of coronavirus identified by the Robert Koch Institute will not be allowed access to the university sites until further notice., Today this was officially extended to include the French region of Grand Est. We would like to ask supervisors in all areas to actively inform people in their area of responsibility about this. For persons returning from one of the risk areas, the obligation to be absent from the university sites for 14 days continues to apply.

In addition, the crisis team met again today. A pandemic plan is currently being prepared, which you will soon be able to read on the University's homepage. On the other hand, starting tomorrow, you will find a summary of the most frequently asked questions and answers (FAQ) on the topic on the UdS website.
