Jun.-Prof. Tobias Marschall, Center for Bioinformatics, was appointed professor for life by the State Chancellery

Dr. Tobias Marschall, currently Junior Professor at the Center for Bioinformatics at Saarland University and Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPI) in Saarbrücken, received the certificate of appointment as Professor of Bioinformatics at the State Chancellery on Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2019).

Tobias Marschall studied natural science informatics at the University of Bielefeld and received his PhD in bioinformatics from the Technical University of Dortmund in 2011. He then worked for three years as a postdoctoral researcher at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), the Dutch national research center for mathematics and computer science in Amsterdam. In April 2014, he received an appointment as junior professor at the Center for Bioinformatics at Saarland University and took over the position of senior researcher at the MPI in Saarbrücken.
